Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh -

 

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS) program at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non-tenure-stream Visiting Instructor position to begin in Fall of 2024. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative teacher equipped to teach foundational courses in gender/sexuality studies. The teaching load is 2 courses/per semester, and the contract for this full-time appointment will run from September 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. We welcome applications from advanced (ABD) graduate students.

 

Essential qualifications are:

To have completed everything but the dissertation in a Ph.D. program (ABD) by Sept. 1, 2024, or to hold a Ph.D. by that date.

A research program involving critical race/ethnicity studies and gender/sexuality studies.

Ability to teach courses in feminist, gender, queer, or sexuality studies from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Ability to teach foundational courses (Introduction to Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies; or Introduction to Feminist Theory)

 

Experience in teaching intensive writing courses is desirable.
