Position:         Life Coach

*Summary:     * Responsible for the delivery of AXIOS curriculum including Thinking for a Change, LST, JumpStart Success, and other programming to youth participating in the Program.  Provide support, guidance, direction, and friendship to clients' and clients' parents. An effective Life Coach establishes and upholds a relationship with the child over a period of at least twelve months.

Responsibilities:

• Complete training in Thinking for a Change©, Jumpstart and deliver curricula to youth consistent with the Program model and schedule.
• Provide tutoring and academic assistance consistent with the needs identified by school personnel and detailed on the Prevention Services Plan (PSP).
• Provide feedback to the Family Advocate/Prevention Specialist regarding the youth's achievement in meeting goals detailed on the PSP and support the Family Advocate in ensuring the client's active engagement in Program activities.
• Provide on-sight supervision of clients on field trips, community services learning activities, and Program activities.
• Meet with school personnel (administration, guidance counselor, teacher, etc.) and the Family Advocate in identifying needs, risks, and strengths.
• Provide support to the youth as needed that meet the clients individualized needs.
• Assist youth in establishing personal goals like improving academic grades or pursuing a degree in college.

• Commitment of 10 hours per week.

   

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in education, psychology, theology, criminal justice, social work, or behavioral health related field or five (5) years of professional experience working with youth
• Min Requirement: Registered Applicants (RA)
• Ability to successfully pass a Level II background screening
• Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills. Bi-lingual preferred.
