OhioMeansJobs Lake County is assisting a child care facility with their recruiting efforts for the following position: Assistant/Aide/Float/Substitute Location: Mentor Position ID: 44072877 Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time Shift: 1st, 8:00am-5:00pm Wage: $11.00-$12.00 Benefits: Vacation, Sick Leave, Paid Holidays, Education Assistance Position Description:

• To provide the possible infant, toddler, preschool and school age experiences for the children and families served.
• Implementation of programs and activities for the class and center in accordance with the program philosophies and guidelines outlined in activity plans under direct supervision of the Lead teacher.
• Record keeping; informal/formal child documentation, record attendance, documentation of illness, daily care of the children assigned to group, and other duties prescribed by the administrator and Lead teacher.
• Maintain in service training as required by Administrator and Step Up to Quality.
• Can lift up to 25lb regularly and up to 40lb occasionally.
• Daily caregiving of children including but not limited; changing diapers/toileting, feeding, attention/stimulation, compassionate caregiving, management of behaviors, managing groups of children with differing abilities/development, etc.
• Professional and courteous communications with families.
• Ability to shift and move quickly, flexibility to accommodate needs of program and families, and more.
• Daily cleaning and disinfection of classroom space and center as required by program.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age 18 (exceptions made for specific situations), HS Diploma/GED, general knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices, experience working with children ages 0-12 yrs. Includes CCP and Tech students from local high schools.
